Job Title: Director of Recreation Programs

Summary:
The Director of Recreation Programs is responsible for leadership and management of recreation programs provided to individuals with severe learning disabilities, cognitive impairments, mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities.  This includes management of fiscal, personnel and organizational resources to insure quality services are provided in accordance to the organization’s mission and government regulations.   This program consists of recreation and respite services provided to children and adults from age 5 on.

Supervisor: Executive Director

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for direct supervision of the Afterschool program, management of staff, planning activities, ensuring quality services are provided to participants.

- Establish and revise policies to ensure that provision of services is in compliance with city and state regulations.  Review policies and practices to ensure their effectiveness and staff compliance. 

- Direct supervision of program managers includes planning for personnel needs, recruitment, selection, training, supervision, regular evaluations. 

- Monitor enrollment within each of the various programs to insure maximum capacity.  Insure accurate enrollment of all new participants. Monitor activities offered in each of the programs and that calendars are submitted in a timely manner. Verify that plans of service are current and accurate for all consumers within the program, and staff compliance with the plans of service.

- Fiscal management includes planning and managing budget, submission and verification of billing, expenditures, monitoring petty cash, and preparation of statistical reports as required by various funding sources.

- Incident management responsibility requires adherence to all organization and state policies on handling.

- Establish and maintain relationships with representatives from funding sources, interagency organizations, and other organizations offering day services to keep current on trends occurring in the provision of services.

- Communicate with other program directors to ensure that consumer plans are established to best meet their needs as determined by the team.

- Prepare monthly reports to the Executive Director.

- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements:
Preferred:
Masters in Administration, or Social Work, two years management experience and at least two years experience in providing recreational services to individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Computer literate.

Required:
Minimum B.A., at least three years experience providing recreational and/or educational services. Strong communication and organizational skills. Computer literate.
